🎙️ On this episode, we speak with filmmaker Sharice Keyes. We discuss what it was like producing her first short film, as well as her role as a postproduction coordinator at the George Lucas-founded, and now Disney-owned Industrial Light & Magic, working on the biggest projects in Hollywood, including Marvel’s “The Eternals,” “Dungeons and Dragons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves,” and the upcoming new Star Wars Disney+ streaming series, “Ahsoka.”

ABOUT Sharice Keyes 🎬

Born and raised in New York City, Sharice Keyes currently works as a VFX Production Coordinator for Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). She earned her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Journalism from Northeastern University and her Master of Arts (MA) in Individualized Study, TV & Film from New York University (NYU).

Growing up in a family that stemmed from the Deep South and the Caribbean, Sharice was enamored with the stories of faith and fortitude her elders passed down to her about their experiences with racial and gender oppression and romantic hardships.

As a filmmaker, her short film, “A Tempting Torment,” about a Black woman’s struggles with online dating and an abusive past, was an official selection at the NYU Gallatin Arts Festival and the Marina Del Rey Film Festival.
